LOX-8 Thread Sealant chemistry is engineered for harsh-chemical situations where extreme acids or powerful oxidizers are used. It prevents stainless steel galling and is a chemical-resistant sealant that can withstand high pressure, and both high temperatures and cryogenic deep freeze temperatures. Oxygen-safe, waterproof, and versatile, it is both a sealing pipe thread compound and an anti-galling agent. Works great with oil-based systems, hydraulic oils, and fuels. LOX-8 is recommended for use as both a lubricant and as a sealant by The Chlorine Institute members. Safe to use with PVC threads as a plastic pipe joint sealant but be careful to not over tighten. See the Technical Data Sheets for complete list of specifications, approvals, testing, compatible liquids, gases, and aggressive chemicals. KEY BENEFITS Formulated for wet conditions and dry applications. High-density, inert thread sealant Remains stable up to +287°C (+550°F). It is nonflammable and nontoxic. Oxygen-safe (gaseous & liquid) Not affected by harsh chemicals such as chlorines, hypochlorites or powerful oxidizers Allows you to standardize on one sealant, replacing all the pipe sealants in your tool box or factory. Eliminates plumbing errors, standardizes inventory and practices. Anti-galling, anti-seize, anti-corrosive Non-migrating, non-hardening sealant Oxygen-approved by The German Federal Institute for Materials Testing (BAM) and ASTM G72-82 and ASTM G86 (NASA) Praxair GS-38 approvedNSF S2 icon NSF-approved for use in food processing facilities NLGI 2 grease and lubricant USES Water Treatment industry as LOX-8 Thread Sealant is impervious to the harsh chemicals including hydrofluorosilicic acid, sodium hypochlorite, chlorine, and ammonium hydroxide Aerospace sealant including kerosene, argon, helium, and oxygen Welding and bottled gas industry as gas sealant for sealing threads on tanks, fittings, gauges, and connections of gases including argon, carbon dioxide, oxygen, helium, hydrogen, natural gas, nitrogen, nitrous oxide, propane, acetylene and more Agricultural chemicals and spray equipment, including ammonia and fertilizers Off-shore rigging Chlorine manufacturing environments Stainless steel anti-galling Oxygen and chlorine systems Cryogenics including argon, helium, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen Auto industry including diesel fuel, gasoline, and hydrogen (liquid & gaseous) Diving gear Nitrous oxide systems Medical equipment Gasoline, diesel, and kerosene fuel systems Safe to use with metal, plastic, PVC, and other pipes and fittings Use with LNG, hydrogen, liquid nitrogen, and carbon dioxide Ammonia and freon refrigeration service Offshore drilling rigs Chemical processing Cage Code 28017
